Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio has announced details of a new side-project, Matt Skiba And The Sekrets which includes Jarrod Alexander of My Chemical Romance on drums and Hunter Burgan of AFI on bass.

Skiba made the following statement:

"Creating a record on my own and deciding who plays and how the songs were structured, it was fun to do. I love working with my band-mates in Alk3 but to make a rock record that was just mine was something that I wanted to do."

The band will release their debut album, 'Babylon', through Superball Music later this year.

Alkaline Trio Cancel UK/European Tour

Alkaline Trio have been forced to cancel their upcoming UK/European tour due to Matt Skiba being involved in an accident last week.

Skiba made the following statement:

" Got a walking cast I can take on and off but I can’t actually walk on/put weight on it for several weeks. Our UK dates will be made up ASAP

My sincerest apologies to all our fans in the UK and in Germany. Once I’m healed we’ll be back to play for you guys as soon as we can."

Alkaline Trio To Cancel UK Tour?

Alkaline Trio front man Matt Skiba's right foot was recently run over by a semi-truck while stopped at a red light on his motorcycle, which could possibly result in the band's upcoming UK tour being cancelled.

Skiba made the following statement:

"My right foot was run over by a semi truck while stopped at a light on my motorcycle yesterday.Broke my foot and ankle badly. Dr tomorrow. Tbc
