Alter The Press! Presents: The Great Valley

Brothers Louis and Nick Matos are better known as Wilmington pop-rock duo The Great Valley. Raised in a house where their mother was a music teacher, and their father a drummer, Louis and Nick were destined to be involved in music. With two well-received EPs already under their belt, with exposure from various publications and websites, The Great Valley continue to go from strength to strength, with their brand of pop-rock. With a likeliness to many popular bands in the genre, there is no reason why TGV can't become bigger.

For Fans Of: Blink 182, Valencia, Jimmy Eat World, and Creed

Alter The Press: Why should Alter The Press! readers check you out?
The Great Valley: Check it. One reason why all you sexy readers should check us out is because we are a brand new band! Who doesn't like new music? Another reason why is because we sound just as good as we look. Agree? Haha. And lastly we give make music with substance. Hooks that you will remember and guitar riffs that rip through your face.

ATP: What's the story behind the band?
TGV: We're brothers who spent over 10 years playing music together and have two new records that we're very happy with under our belts. Our mother is a music teacher and our dad is a drummer so we've been surrounded by music our entire lives. We have gone through numerous members and name changes over the years and figured out it is best to write as a couple! It's way easier and we just click when writing gnarly songs.

ATP: Single highlight as a band so far?
TGV: Being able to wake up and play music together is a great way to start the day. Also, being able to say that we released two cd's in the past 4 months is also pretty tight. You can actually download our newest one for free over at AOL.com.

ATP: What are your plans for the 12 months?
TGV: We're writing our first LP right now and plan to release that early 2011. We also plan on gaining a bigger and bigger fan base over the next year. Our fans are really important to us. That is why we gave away our latest EP for free. This is a thanks to you fans! Other than that we plan to tour full time and rock your faces off!
