The Ataris Kris Roe Involved In Car Crash

The Ataris' Kris Roe was involved in a bad car crash earlier this week.

Statement from the band:

"Kris was in a bad car wreck this week. His car was totaled, front end completely smashed, roof rip opened. The person in front of him slammed on their brakes unexpectedly, he swerved out of the way to avoid hitting them, causing him to slam into a massive LED construction warning sign. The sign crashed through his front window, then flew over his car ripping off a huge section of the roof.
Fortunately he was wearing his seatbelt and is expected to make a full recovery.
Due to the circumstances we regret to inform you that we have no other choice but to cancel our appearance next week in San Francisco. We plan on making another trip out to California in early July with our friends Gasoline Heart and will be booking those dates shortly. Our next scheduled show is May 29th in Chicago at Subterranean. That show will still go on as planned. See you there. Thanks."

The Ataris New Album Update

The Ataris have posted an update, concerning new album 'The Graveyard of the Atlantic'.

The band have also announced plans to release a 7-inch.

"Hi, everyone. For those asking about the status of The Ataris new album “The Graveyard of the Atlantic”… We are still currently writing and trying to find the funds to finish recording the vocals. We have been funding most of the record ourselves out of pocket so the recording process has been a bit slower than we anticipated but we swear the record is indeed still coming this year! We will be playing shows from Feb. throughout Apr. and then will attempt to finish vocals when we return from tour.

In the meantime we will shortly be announcing details of a 7 inch release with two or three new songs, It will be released in the coming months and if all goes well we should have them half way through our tour."

Mightier Than Sword Records Announce Ataris' 'Blue Skies, Broken Hearts...Next 12 Exits' Vinyl Release

Mightier Than Sword Records have announced they will be releasing a re-mastered vinyl version of The Ataris' 'Blue Skies, Broken Hearts...Next 12 Exits' on April 13th.

The record will be available to pre-order on February 1st and will feature limited-edition signed cover art and liner notes from Kris Roe, as well as a gatefold jacket, innersleeve, and commemorative 10 year anniversary foil embossed seal.

The vinyl release will be limited to 500 copies of 180 gram black vinyl.
