Mightier Than Sword Records have announced they have signed UK's Tall Ships.

The band will release their label debut EP, 'There Is Nothing But Chemistry Here' on February 21st.

Alter The Press: All the members in Bayonet come from other bands. How did you come together?
Buddy Nielsen (vocals): I met with Jeremy through a mutual friend named Ben who used to sing for Armor For Sleep and then Jeremy had prior relationships with everyone else.

Interview: Last Call

On August 2nd, Las Vegas-based pop-punk band Last Call will release their new EP, 'Stay on the Outside' through Mightier Than Sword Records. The EP is the follow up to last year's '12:57' EP and sees the quartet working with producer Paul Miner (New Found Glory, H2O and Fireworks) again. With comparisons to Saves The Day, The Swellers and Dillenger Four, Last Call's style is one that is tight and thrives on the bands DIY punk rock ethics.

Alter The Press! recently spoke to drummer Adam Blasco and vocalist Austin Jeffers about the new EP, joining MTS Records, where they stand as a pop-punk band and more.

Alter The Press: Could you tell us your name and role in Last Call?
Last Call: My name is Adam Blasco. I play drums. Pacing ceaselessly next to me is Austin Jeffers, who sings in Last Call.

ATP: To begin with tell us what the new EP is about and what fans can expect?
Last Call: The whole idea behind 'Stay On The Outside' came from the concept of our song 'Disconnected'. It was one of the first songs we wrote after releasing 12:57, and like everyone, we each had our shit that we were dealing with at the time. Basically, the idea is that no matter who's surrounding you, what you're doing, or what you're going through physically, mentally or emotionally, sometimes you just feel alone. On the other hand, sometimes you're completely overwhelmed with everything and need to be alone for a while, which is pretty hard with how the world is these days. Sometimes you need to disconnect from everything, and get yourself right before anything else.

Album Review: Into It. Over It./Such Gold - Split

This split is the final release in Into It. Over It.'s 'Tweleve Towns' series and for some, a split release with Rochester, NY's Such Gold sounds pretty special. Both Into It. Over It. (aka Evan Weiss) and Such Gold have been gathering a strong following on both sides of the Atlantic, so expectations are considerably high.

Weiss' first track, 'Washington, DC' a solid blast of rock that is similar to his other band, Stay Ahead of the Weather with a decent structure and an appreciative melody that Weiss pulls off well. Whereas 'Portland, OR' is the more favorable offering with its atmospheric tone and overall mellow approach that gives Weiss the space needed to let his lyrics breathe.

Blink-182 'TOYPAJ' B-Side EPs Coming Soon On Vinyl

Mightier Than Sword Records have announced they will be releasing three Blink-182 EP's on vinyl.

The three 7" EP's; 'Red', 'Yellow' and 'Green' will be made up of b-sides from the band's 'Take Off Your Pants and Jacket' album.

A release date for the series is yet to be announced.

Mightier Than Sword Announce Blink-182 Vinyl Releases

Mightier Than Sword have announced details of two Blink-182 vinyl releases.

The label will be producing a third pressing of 'Enema of The State', which will be limited to 2 new colors, each hand-numbered out of 182 copies:

– “skin” peach marble (/182) – Mightier Than Sword exclusive– “latex” blue marble (/182) – ShopRadioCast Exclusve

In addition the bands 'Self-Titled' album will be pressed on solid pink vinyl and will be limited to 100.

Pre-orders for both records will be available today from 12PM EST.

As previously stated, the label will be releasing details about the limited edition re-issue of 'Take Off Your Pants And Jacket' in two weeks.

Blink-182 Self Titled Album To See Limited Vinyl Repress

Mightier Than The Sword Records have announced they are currently working on a repress of Blink-182's self titled album (2xLP) on solid pink vinyl, limited to only 100 copies.

No further information has been released at this stage.

The label has also announced it will be revealing details of a limited edition re-issue of 'Take Off Your Pants And Jacket' in two weeks.

Album Review: Bayonet - Bayonet EP

Throw away all your preconceptions about Senses Fail and invariably your opinions on Buddy Nielsen because Bayonet doesn’t care. Bayonet are like a alt-music supergroup comprising of members of The Banner (Jeremy Comitas on guitar), Fit For An Autopsy (Will Putney on bass), Suburban Scum (drummer Paul Klein) and Senses Fail (Buddy Nielsen on lead vocals). It’s a recipe for awesome.

Opening track 'Nightmare' is like a straight up roundhouse kick to the face and it gets progressively defiant from thereon in. 'Blackbird' is a fantastically bellicose song while Harsh is a catharsis of a midway point. It’s intense and full of amplified angst (the EP ends with Buddy claiming “I hate myself I hate my fucking self” on New York Minutes). Lyrics like “I live my life like I’m going to hell, so when I get there I won’t feel like I failed” and “All I ever wanted was to not feel alone but that’s exactly what I got because that’s exactly what I'm owed” are scattered all over the EP as an example of the amplified animosity.

Blink-182 'Enema Of The State' Vinyl Reissue

Mightier Than The Sword Records have announced they will be doing a limited vinyl re-issue of Blink-182's 'Enema Of The State' on two brand new colors, limited and hand-numbered to 182 copies each.

The colors will be solid blue marble and solid “nude” (peach) marble.

The Menzingers Announce 'Lesson in the Abuse of Information Technology' Vinyl Release

The Menzingers will re-releasing their debut album, 'Lesson in the Abuse of Information Technology' on limited vinyl through Mightier Than Sword Records and Shop Radio Cast on Tuesday June 28th.

Mightier Than Sword Records to Re-Issue John Joseph's Autobiography

Mightier Than Sword Records has announced that they will be re-issuing the audio book of John Joseph's autobiography, 'The Evolution of a Cro-Magnon' on June 21st on CD. The audio book will also be available digitally for purchase through all online digital music stores on June 21st as well.

ATP! Label Profile: Mightier Than Sword

What started off a hobby in his college dorm has now become a full-time job for Mightier Than Sword's owner R.J. Crowder-Schaefer, who started the label back in 2006 and has since gone on to release a mixture of up and coming and established punk rock bands from Such Gold to Transit to The Ataris to Blink-182.

Although somewhat known for issuing vinyl releases of well-known albums by the latter; as well as The Movielife, Mightier Than Sword's origins lie in being independent and the punk rock community by working with bands like After The Fall, Take Notice and Last Lights. Crowder-Schaefer has also transferred this community work ethic to MTS by listening to what fans want and presenting each release with great care.
