Album Review: Tallhart - Bloodlines EP
In the short space of literally a month, Tallhart have emerged as the world's new favorite band; this could be attributed to their affiliation with Max Bemis (frontman of Say Anything), who recently made them the first band on the roster of his new imprint Rory Records. The raw unheard-of talent that pours out of some of these songs however is grandiose and should not be judged based on that fact. There's definitely a pop aesthetic underlying all of the songs on this EP, in particular, "Brooklyn is Burning" which opens up with a sparse acoustic guitar and vocal arrangement before really picking up over the course of the song itself. The repetition of the line "she's gonna burn it down to the ground for me", found later in the song, really adds a lot of depth to the song itself. "Drunk Kids", where the namesake of the EP can be found within the first chorus, could easily be the next 'feel good hit of the summer.'

Album Review: I the Mighty - Karma Never Sleeps EP
After signing to Equal Vision last summer, California’s I the Mighty have been holed away writing and recording their new EP, "Karma Never Sleeps." Fans of anyone from Thrice to Coheed & Cambria, from Say Anything to Muse will appreciate the musicality of I the Mighty. The EP is a complete knock out, Brent Walsh’s vocals are stunning and it’s a refreshing listen.Opener "The Dreamer" may have been in the band’s repertoire for a while but is none-the-less a sophisticated and catchy introduction to the record, while "Dancing on A Tightrope" is as arresting as it is musically infallible. However, it is infectious centerpiece, "Cutting Room Floor," that really stands above the rest and has hit written all over it - an intelligent, perfectly poetic masterpiece.
With their latest release the boys easily set themselves high above the swathes of newly signed bands currently trying to break the market as being a band with real talent and genuine potential compared with some of the mediocrity that music fans are subjected to these days.
5/5
"Karma Never Sleeps" is released March 27th through Equal Vision Records.

New Equal Vision Sampler Released
A new Spring sampler from Equal Vision Records can be found on Facebook.Album Review: Ghost Thrower - Get Miserable EP
Ghost Writer play punk music. Hailing from the fruitful land of Boston, these lads are of the "fast, hard and loud" school of thought, and released their own example of this, their EP 'Get Miserable', on April 19th. It opens with a fitting intro('Get Miserable') that serves as a beginner's manual to what's coming next: snare massacre, fast open-chord strumming, gang vocals, pace and drive. All the required elements to kick off with a bang. 'I Never Damned You' is pretty much the organic continuation of the introduction, if not improved by the constant attack of emotionally-unrestrained belting that could draw comparisons to a lighter version of Pianos Become The Teeth. The same could be said with 'For Austin' that bears all the same elements which, to some extent, does become a little repetitive at this point, as it does with following track 'Chemistry Sells'.
