Blake Schwarzenbach of Thorns of Life has said the band are planning to self-release their first album.
Blake told The Silver Sprocket Bicycle Club:
"Yea, we want to record a record, and probably do it ourselves. I see no need for a label. None of us know how people do music for sale anymore, so we are trying to figure that one out, but nobody is really buying music anyway. We might as well do it ourselves and lose money that way."

│ Digg This│ Stumble ThisReview: The Arusha Accord/TheSafety Fire/Biolith - Winchester Railway Inn 22/01/09
With the amount of up and coming talent emerging from the metal underground in the UK it’s always a good feeling seeing the bands that are just about to hit the big time. This gig tonight is one of those times. Despite the headlining band Anterior pulling out at the last minute the show as always must go on.
Up first are Winchester’s own Biolith, who pull out all the stops for the home town crowd. Their sound is tight and taking influence from the Gothenburg scene with cookie monster vocals to boot. The set is delivered furiously and without compromise. The icing on the cake is a well and truly nailed cover of Devildriver’s 'Hold Back the Day'. Awesome stuff there from a grass roots band.
London’s The Safety Fire impress just as equally. Their own blend of mind boggling math metal blows peoples head off. Think of the Dillinger Escape Plan tussling with a pissed off Meshuggah whilst From Autumn To Ashes plays referee and your almost there. Its jaw dropping the musical skills these guys have. The intricate guitar work is astounding and carries well throughout The Safety Fire's eye watering set The band’s chemistry is electric with equal elements of melody and aggression administered to a stunned audience that are left wanting more.
With the void left by the departure of the much missed Sikth, The Arusha Accord have quite easily have taken over the crown of UK’s most technical and most bonkers metal outfit. The Reading sextet, despite being bumped up to headliner rise to the challenge effortlessly. The twin headed attack from vocalists Alex and Paul Green hit you from so many angles. From the word go Arusha Accord’s set is intense as they open up with 'The New Face Of Revenge'. This is band who aren’t afraid to move or shed blood for their music as bassist Luke Williams busts open his thumb for slapping the hell out of his bass. Its easy to see why this band has fans afar a field the boys from the Dillinger Escape Plan. A complex set that baffles as much as it blows away. The Arusha Accord are definitely one of the hottest things going in the UK metal scene.
A true showcase of technical metal talent that runs rings around the American counterparts. If this is what’s to come then people should be excited.
4/5

Review: Metro Station - London Electric Ballroom - 29/01/09
The Electric Ballroom tonight is fully packed to its capacity with tickets being sold in weeks in advance. The que is stretched down past Camden market in anticipation for Metro Station's second ever London appearance.
Metro Station have all the correct boxes ticked on how to be successful on pop/rock circuit. Irresistable catchy choruses, they have the look, support from bands such as Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco and Good Charlotte and the fact your sister is Hannah Montana helps (but its an added bonus).
Despite the fact the band are not headlining tonights show, you wouldn't know that unless you look at the bill. As soon as the lights go down and the band open up into 'Disco', Metro Station have the crowd eating out the palm on their hands. Half way into the set, the crowd are chanting for the band's platinum hit, 'Shake It'. Frontman Trace Cyrus is just in awe when commenting, 'I didn't think you guys have even heard of that song!'. As soon as the song starts, the crowd turns into a dance party/rock show with everyone jumping up and down on there feet. You can't help but wonder if it wasn't for the internet, no one would even of heard these guys, considering their self titled record hasn't been released in the country. Afterwards, the band bid their farewells but say to the crowds excitement, they will be returning.
It won't be long now till Metro Station will be filling bigger venues. As soon as they appear on MTV and hit the teen magazines, there will be no stopping them.

NeverShoutNever! Album Details Announced
NeverShoutNever! has announced that he will release his self-titled debut album in May and is produced by Forrest Kirby of Hellogoodbye. NeverShoutNever! will be touring America in March and April including an appearence at SXSW.
Press release:
"NeverShoutNever!, the brain child of singer/songwriter/guitarist Christofer Drew of Joplin, Missouri, is keeping busy in anticipation of its self-titled debut release this May. Preparing to embark on a U.S. headlining tour with The Scene Aesthetic, The Honorary Title, and The Bigger Lights February 26 in Evansville, Indiana, NeverShoutNever!, (singer/guitarist Drew, and touring musicians bassist Taylor McFee and drummer Nathan Ellison), already has 26 million MySpace plays, over 15,000 EPs and 125,000 tracks sold on iTunes, all as an unsigned artist.
Having just wrapped a full U.S. tour with Hellogoodbye, NeverShoutNever! will be on the Bamboozle Road Show Tour beginning April 4 in Irvine, California along with We The Kings, and Forever The Sickest, among others.

With features already run in Alternative Press, Billboard Magazine, and AMP Magazine, as well as Internet coverage on AbsolutePunk.net, AOL, and The Daily Chorus, not to mention a highly visible performance on MTV’s “TRL” over the summer, 2009 is shaping up to be a very exciting year for the band. NeverShoutNever! is looking forward to performing at numerous showcases at SXSW in Austin, TX in March; shows to include a Billboard showcase, Purevolume showcase, Photofinish Records showcase, and To Write Love On Her Arms showcase. This summer, the band will be playing the SmartPunk Stage on the Vans Warped Tour July 20 – August 9."

│ Digg This│ Stumble ThisMore Details about Vanna's New Album Announced
Epitaph Records have released more details about Vanna's new album 'A New Hope'. They have also posted a new song on their myspace called, “Into Hell’s Mouth We March.”
Press Release:
"Boston post-hardcore group Vanna will release their anticipated sophomore album, A New Hope, March 24th on Epitaph Records. Produced and mixed by Steve Evetts (Every Time I Die, Our Last Night, Story of the Year) and mastered by Alan Douches (Converge), A New Hope emphasizes the band's heightened musical abilities, balancing a perfect blend of emotive rock and perilous hardcore with refined precession. Fans can catch a preview of the new album this January as the band tours with Gwen Stacy.
Since the release of Vanna's fan-favorite debut EP, The Search Party Never Came, and their follow-up full-length, Curses, the band has been on a continuous musical journey, evolving, exploring and maturing with each release and tour. With the experience of using what works and letting go of what doesn't, the band tackled the writing and recording of A New Hope with an added perspective and understanding
"The writing and recording process naturally becomes more dialed and decisive with each record," explains lead vocalist Chris Preece. "This record was approached with more of a group mentality. We talked a lot about what we liked and disliked about our last two releases, and each one of us were able to express ourselves in every step of the process. We locked ourselves in our practice space for two months, everyone threw out song ideas, and the ideas were fleshed out into something that we were all happy with. All of our individual influences and inspirations played a big role creatively."
Creativity abounds. A New Hope will grab Vanna's core fans with catchy songs fueled by intense breakdowns, while their accessible melodious song-writing will open the door to a new audience.
Continually elevating their game, Vanna have raised the musical stakes with a bombardment of twelve tracks that invoke a deluge of sensations. Preece's guttural screams and Evan Pharmakis' (guitarist/vocals) melodic choruses seamlessly duel on tracks like the epic post-hardcore anthem for the ages, "Safe To Say," and the sweeping hit "The Same Graceful Wind." The fast, ferocious work of guitarist Nick Lambert, bassist Shawn Marquis and drummer Chris Campbell provide a wall of intense sound on tracks like "Thrashmouth" and "Life and Limb.""
1. Let's Have An Earthquake
2. Into Hell's Mouth We March
3. The Same Graceful Wind
4. Like Changing Seasons
5. Trashmouth
6. Safe To Say
7. We Are Nameless
8. Sleepwalker
9. Where We Are Now
10. Ten Arms
11. Life and Limb
12. The Sun Sets Here

│ Digg This│ Stumble ThisInterview: VersaEmerge
Sean recently spoke with Jerry Pierce from up and coming Florida band VersaEmerge. Jerry talked about the bands recent signing to Fueled By Ramen, their new self-titled EP and what does VersaEmerge actually mean.
ATP: Who are you and what is your role in the band?
JP: I’m Jerry and I’m the sexy new guitarist.
ATP: Give us a brief history of the band and how you came together? I understand you have had a few line-up changes.
JP: Blake and Anthony have been playing in bands together for forever so they kind of found the rest of us while doing that. There have definitely been a few member exchanges since the band was first formed but we’re pretty confident/happy about the line-up now.
ATP: You haven’t always had a female front man, why decide to add Sierra to the line-up?
JP: Sierra just rocks- there is no reason to not want her in your band.
ATP: For those who haven’t heard of you before, describe your band?
JP: Someone once told me that we sound like a mixture between Fergie and Jesus but I’ve never actually heard Fergie sing so I can neither confirm nor deny that. Blake sometimes uses the word “cinematic” which seems to fit pretty well.
ATP: What inspires you?
JP: Lots of things inspire me personally; I look for inspiration in absolutely everything.
ATP: You probably have been asked this dozens of times but what is the story behind the name VersaEmerge?
JP: Scholars maintain that the translation was lost long, long ago. They’re wrong though- the name is a mix between the word “versa” from the phrase “vice-versa” and the word “emerge”.
ATP: So a lot has happened in the last year for you?
JP: Definitely, I’ve been in the band for 6 months now and it’s been insanely exciting to always have something new happening. I don’t remember the last time I was bored which is really nice but sometimes it’s hard to find time to loaf.
ATP: Now it’s a new year and you are now with Fueled By Ramen. How did that happen?
JP: There were a few label offers that were being tossed around- FBR just seemed like the best fit. We’re really happy with the way the label situation turned out. Everyone at FBR has been awesome.
ATP: You must be pretty happy to be on a label with so many great bands?
JP: It’s really cool to be on a label full of bands that have been on my ipod since I was little. Sometimes it can be overwhelming (in a good way)- I have to pinch myself once in a while.
ATP: Your new self-titled EP is to be released. Tell us about that?
JP: We worked with James Paul Wisner, which was great. He worked his magic and we’re all stoked on the way everything came out. We’re releasing on Feb 3rd bllllllat.
ATP: Can we expect a full-length in the near future?
JP: Most assuredly.
ATP: Like a lot of bands, you are constantly out on the road. How has it been adapting to touring for a relative young band like yours?
JP: It’s been pretty seamless I’d say. Once you get used to not sleeping as much/well it’s easy. Other than that, touring is largely coffee, Subway, gas stations and rocking out- the same stuff that happens at home.
ATP: Any funny tour stories or pranks?
JP: We put conditioner on Conditions’ van, that was pretty funny if you’re into irony. And one time I went into a gas station at 1am in my underpants.
ATP: You have 2 tours announced. The first being with We The Kings, The Maine, The Cab and There For Tomorrow. Then you’re off out on the road with Craig Owens, Ace Enders and The Color Fred. I bet you’re pretty excited to be playing with so many good acts?
JP: I’m so excited. Again, all bands that I look up to.
ATP: Have you toured or played with any of them before?
JP: There For Tomorrow are our home boys. Other than that, it will be our first time with everyone.
ATP: Any plans to cross the pond and come over to the UK?
JP: Yep. There are several ideas in the works, all of which I’m excited for. I’ve never been “across the pond” so I’m pretty pumped.
ATP: Anything else you would like to say?
JP: I’d like to say that everyone should buy our record on February 3rd and that I’m hungry.
VersaEmerge's self-titled EP is available through Fueled By Ramen on February 3rd.

│ Digg This│ Stumble ThisIt Dies Today Give Reasons for New Album Delay
It Dies Today have posted a myspace blog giving reasons for the delay of their new album 'Lividity' which was expected to be released in America yesterday.
The band said:
"So everyone, you might be wondering why the record didn't come out yesterday. We've had some serious set backs throughout the process of trying to finish Lividity and put it out. It was supposed to hit shelves last fall then January 27th, but with the problems we incured; such as having the house we built our studio in getting sold from beneath us subsequently putting us on the street for close to a month, putting together the making the record DVD, and the making of the "Thank you for drinking" video (both to be released with the album!), as well as the struggle to work our regular day jobs to stay afloat for the holidays. It's been an awkward/terrible/amazing/eye opening experience for all of us. It doesn't excuse the lack of updates, but we hope you understand that the time we spent and perseverence through all this bullshit will be MORE than worth it! Mark my words this will be the heaviest/most relentless record this band has ever put out!
P.S. We'll be posting some new songs on our myspace, posting the "TYFD" video, getting together concepts for the video for the first single "Reckless abandon", and making some tracks available for ringtones in the next couple weeks. Once again we apologize for the serious bum out, and can't wait to see you on the road this spring.
Sincerely Jason
