Alter The Press! Presents: Tag Your Targets
Having grown up in the early 2000's listening pop-punk bands like Sum 41 and Blink-182, its no surprise Malmö, Sweden's Tag Your Targets have combined that period of the genre with more recent acts like Four Year Strong, the four-piece pull off an energetic, exciting and instantly favourable.
Whist previous projects took a more alt-rock route; the bands collective love for pop-punk has brought them together and although its still early days; they formed in spring 2010, the Swedish group have a promising future with a current sound that has a feel-good vibe. Tracks like 'Wildcard' are thriving and have tons of urgency. While the coming months sees the band taking an optimistic yet ambitious approach; plans for a full-length, UK and European shows and more.
For Fans Of: New Found Glory, The Wonder Years, Four Year Strong and Me vs Hero.
Alter The Press: Why should Alter The Press! readers check you out?
Tag Your Targets: Because we're a breath of fresh air from Sweden. And we're doing something different. And good, damn good! So if you think that hot girls are the only good thing to come out of Sweden, think again because Tag Your Targets just might be your new favorite band. If you like catchy, poppy songs filled with good melodies, gang vocals, the occasional breakdown and d-beat, then we're your guys! Also, if you're a fan of Top Chef (the reality cooking show), then you'll definitely like our track 'Pack Your Knives and Go!'.

Album Review: Ben Marwood - Outside There’s A Curse
This album has been a long time coming, seeing as it was due out in November on Ben’s own label Broken Tail Records where he seemed content on releasing it until a friend suggested he send it to Xtra Mile Recordings, and it’s no surprise that they picked him up and agreed to release his debut full length ‘Outside There’s A Curse’.
Ben may have got onto what he describes as a ‘real’ label but this album is still as raw as it was ever going to be, most of it was recorded in his bedroom and completed before XMR got hold of it. It’s a real acoustic lo-fi affair which is evident from opening track ‘I Will Breathe You In’. It’s refreshing to hear something with little or no production that in this case showcases a great song writer. The ironically titled ‘Singalong’ is up next, with its catchy chorus and fast paced approach. But ‘Toil’ is up next, with its silky finger picking and effortless melodies.
Album Review: The Ocean Between Us - The Ocean Between Us EP
Is it still fair to judge a band on their originality? It's an idea that divides opinion. But while we should obviously commend artists who create an entirely unique sound, that doesn't mean to say that those who can't achieve the same feat should be cast from our minds as clichéd or lazy. The Ocean Between Us' crashing, emotive self-titled debut EP is a welcome, if not a revolutionary, addition to a bustling genre.
What's clear from the get-go is that this Yorkshire post-hardcore mob have what so many new bands lack - a brilliant eye for song composition and structure. Their sound incorporates well judged changes in pace, thrashing rhythm and a maturity that is vastly impressive for a band still in their infancy.
