Recently Ireland's Starters kicked off a UK and European tour with Rochester, New York natives Such Gold.
Throughout the tour, Starters will be writing exclusive updates from the tour especially for Alter The Press!
Bassist Ian Kelly has checked in with an update of events over the past few days.
February 25th - Huddersfield
We had a short drive today, so we slept until midday and then headed to town for lunch. I got some sweet curry thing and some delish cupcakes. After that we hit the road and headed to Huddersfield. The venue tonight was called The Parish. It was pretty sweet.
The dude running the show was the best and hooked us up with the best food of tour. Pizza, Nachos and giant cookies that had oreos inside them. Incredible. Stay Home were playing tonight. They are a new band from the UK and I was really looking forward to seeing them. They did not disappoint. Great band.
Like I said before its a completely pleasure watching Koji and Such Gold every night. They both ruled tonight. After the show we went back to a really nice house and I drank water from a jar! I got to sleep beside a radiator tonight. Toasty warm.

Alter The Press! Presents: The Definitive
Having grown up playing in various bands in the North West of England, indie rock duo The Definitive made a big decision five years ago by relocating to Los Angeles.
However despite the move, The Definitive have musically stuck to their roots, as their style is one that reminiscent of 90's British indie rock music and the duo cite the likes of The Smiths and Joy Division as influences.
Now settled in their new home, The Definitive have released their debut single ' The Start', which features an appearance from Face To Face's Trever Keith, who has been producing for the band as well. With such an honest and true sound, expect to hear more from The Definitive.

Album Review: Adelaine - Take Heart
Marketing a female fronted helium rock band has never been easier. Hey Monday, VersaEmerge and We Are In The Crowd, as well as a certain Tennessee based something-piece, have all enjoyed vast success over the last few years.
With this success comes influx of bands, hoping to emulate the popularity of established acts on the scene. Texas reared Adelaine don't do themselves a disservice with debut EP 'Take Heart', which ticks most of the right melodic ultra-light metal boxes.
Album Review: Alright The Captain - SNIB
Alright The Captain have attempted the almost impossible: creating a full-length album with virtually no vocals. That's right, 10 tracks without a hint of a lyric, bar two lines in two songs. It's ambitious to say the least. But guess what? It turns out that vocals are quite a vital part of a good record. Even if the three-piece had included any, I'm still not convinced that 'SNIB' would be anything special. The experimental prog-rock sound is an acquired taste at best, and one that I clearly haven't developed yet.
Album Review: Runner Runner - Runner Runner
As a reviewer, I love being surprised. The surprise can come from any one of a number of things; from the catchiness of a hook to a complete 180 degree change-up in the style of music that a band plays. I like things to be fresh; to see things in a new light. Runner Runner’s debut self-titled LP has shone that new light on pop rock for me. It surprised me. Usually I’m the first one to dismiss bands like Runner runner, but I can’t help but love their self-titled effort.
Runner Runner craftily blends pop punk, synth laden pop music, and acoustic ballads that surprisingly work well together as an album. While a lot of the album is dance-centric, the latter half of the record with the more acoustic stuff is what really shines. After tracks loaded with bleeps and bloops like ‘Heart Attack’ more subdued tracks like ‘Hey Alli’, ‘Falling’ and ‘Life After You’ really sound great. That’s not to say the upbeat pop tracks aren’t good though; Tracks like ‘So Obvious’ and ‘Unstoppable’ will keep listeners coming back over and over.
Live Review: Delta Sleep, Phoria & Canals - Casey’s, Canterbury - 18/02/11
This gig was meant to be part of the Wot Gorilla? UK tour, which was cut short due to Wot Gorilla’s bassist breaking his ankle. However, undeterred and with impressive home support, intended support band Delta Sleep stepped up to headline. It should also be noted at this point that Casey’s is a pub and one not particularly well suited for gigs of any kind, let alone one that features the intricate detail of bands playing mathy post-rock, and so despite numerous sound checks and plenty of dial-turning, the sound suffers throughout.
