Having only just self-released his new album, 'The World We Know', Alter The Press! sat down with Ace Enders of I Can Make A Mess Like Nobody's Business to speak about how the band originated, the new album and how it was sold for 99 cents on Amazon early, clearing up rumors about The Early November and more.
Alter The Press: What made you want to start 'I Can Make A Mess Like Nobody's Business'?'
Ace Enders: It started originally as a side project a long time ago, and now has become what I do, but, originally, it was something that I could do that didn’t have any rules. My other band, at the time, was sort of in a genre that you couldn't really get out of; this was sort of my escape from that.
ATP: You just released your second album, 'The World We Know'. How has the response been so far?
Ace: Very good, I have been really excited. Everyone has been really supportive.
ATP: You sold 1,000 copies in the first day, what was your first response when seeing the figures?
Ace: Very exciting, I don't think anyone was expecting it to do super well but it's cool.
ATP: The situation with Amazon selling the album early, for 99 cents. What exactly happened?
Ace: I have no idea; no one is really taking the blame, so it's kind of difficult. It's either the company who gives it to Amazon to put up, or them [Amazon] but no one is accepting the blame.

Album Review: Lower Than Atlantis - Far Q
Lower Than Atlantis are just the latest in a long line of UK hardcore punk bands and with 'Far Q' is their attempt to stand up and be noticed. Filled with energy and passion from the start, with additional social-aware lyrics; "We are the kids of the recession, credit cards, overdrafts, loans and no pensions." (from 'I'm Not Bulimic (I Just Wanted To See How Far I Could Stick My Fingers Down My Throat)'). It shows a band that are willing to lay it out for all to see.
Whilst lyrically honest, musically the trio don't reinvent the wheel but the band storm through a 40 minute onslaught, with stabbing guitars, pounding drums and fiery vocals ('Eating Is Cheating' is a good example of this). Although tracks like 'No Belts' and 'Face Full Of Scars' hint at variation, with the latter going at a more steady tempo, that sways and allows Mike Duce's vocals to stand out more.

Album Review: Rebuke - Wouldworks
European punks, Rebuke are back with their sophomore attempt, ‘Wouldworks’ in an attempt to get a grip on the European punk scene. What they have here is an album that in all honesty is competent enough, but not good enough to stand out from the crowd.
The whole album goes along quite a slow pace, you might be forgiven for not sharing that view with opener ‘Bartenders and Tarbenders’ but from there on in, nothing much grabs your attention. They describe themselves as drawing influences from Bad Religion and NOFX, but all I get here is Sum 41-lite from their 'Does This Look Infected' era with just a slightly, and I emphasize that bigger hint of punk.
Album Review: More Than You'll Ever Know - More Than You'll Ever Know
'Pop-punk' means different things to different people. For one, it may be LA veterans Weezer, for another New Found Glory and for the new breed of fans All Time Low. If you're a fan of the latter (pre 'So Wrong It's Right' especially) then Wakefield quartet More Than You'll Ever Know's self-titled debut EP might just be worth a listen.
'Keep Me Here' is a solid start, outlining the band's eye for a melody, as well as showing impressive pace changes and vocal scope. 'Look Around' is a slow starter, but has a gem of a chorus, that delivers a brilliant pop-punk punch.
Album Review: Kills and Thrills - Liars
Listening to 'Liars' is like a shot of pure adrenaline; it’s full of boundless energy and relentless vigour. Unfortunately, it wears off just as quickly as it comes. The problem with Kills and Thrills debut album is that, while it channels a mixture of successful post-hardcore acts such as Underoath and Emanuel, it lacks the intelligence and quirks which make bands like Every Time I Die so well respected. For a hardcore band, it’s surprisingly safe.
The cloud of distortion and bellowed screams which surround opener ‘Dirty Birds’ defines Kills and Thrills as a filthy hardcore act with an ear for a catchy riff. It’s all quite exciting. However, as the album progresses, it becomes apparent that they only have one trick up their sleeve: and it’s a loud one. It takes three songs before the pace of ‘Keep Holding On’ suggests a departure from their brash hardcore-ethic, as a desperate vocal delivery reminiscent of Cursive adds a touch of humanity to the song. It hints at what Kills and Thrills could be, and it is undoubtedly the highlight of the album.
Album Review: I Can Hear Myself Levitate - What Is Left EP
Chicago, a city glorified for its blues and jazz heritage and host to the annual alternative rock festival Lollapalooza. Chicago is more well known for producing big selling rock bands like Fall Out Boy, Rise Against and Alkaline Trio. Despite the strange name, I Can Hear Myself Levitate could possibly be the next big thing to come out of Chicago.
The album opens with 'Arrow on a Compass', which begins with a sudden gust of wind and the sea managing to shoot a cold shiver down the small of my back. The lead singer Chris Pacific whispers "Arrows on the compass point to you" over the top of a faint guitar. When the song eventually kicks in, it's ballsy. A perfect introduction.

Kenny Vasoli of Person L and The Starting Line sat down with Alter The Press! for a brief interview before playing the famous El Rey Theater in Los Angeles.
ATP! spoke to Kenny about Person L supporting Copeland on their last ever tour, 'Human Interest', the future of The Starting Line and more.
Alter The Press: How has the Copeland tour been going?
Kenny Vasoli (vocals/guitar): Really well. I'm really grateful we got on it, it's been the most comfortable tour we've done since the tour with Anthony Green, in the sense that we have a place on this tour. People are digging the set, we are getting really good feedback every night; we are enjoying ourselves. It's ranking up there as one of the best tours, but it's hard to beat that Anthony Green tour because it was the first, and such a fun time with our friends.

Live Review: Emery, Moneen, & Deaf Havana - Rescue Rooms, Nottingham - 27.03.2010
With Madina Lake, Mayday Parade and We Are The Ocean playing next door at Rock City, its not that surprising the turn out for tonight's show isn't that great. Norfolk five-piece Deaf Havana struggle to get the audience going with their brand of post-hardcore, although the bands breakdown and duel-vocals are impressive. However the bands makeshift lead vocalist (Max from Brides is filling in on this tour) at times struggled but his situation is understandable, whilst guitarist and melody vocalist James Veck-Gilodi to an extent saved the bands unresponsive set.
