Interview: A Loss For Words, All Or Nothing & Lyu
Next week, A Loss For Words head over to the UK for their first tour on these shores. Along with the Boston band will be All or Nothing and LYU. The two week tour will see the band playing all over the country, including shows in London, Kingston, Nottingham, Birmingham, Glasgow and many more.
To get fans ready for this triple pop-punk powerhouse of a tour, we recently asked all three bands about the tour and what we can expect from this tour.
A Loss For Words
ATP: Who are you and what is your role in A Loss For Words?
ALFW: What's goin on, I'm Mike and I play bass and sing backing vocals.
ATP: Tell us a bit about what A Loss For Words for those who havn't heard you before?
ALFW: Well I'd say we're a more aggressive sounding pop-punk band, who've been around for damn close to ten years now. I'd say somewhere in the vein of The Movielife, New Found Glory and Alkaline Trio. We're a pretty ugly group of dudes, and we're damn proud of it.
ATP: So you're about to head to the UK. Is this your first time here?
ALFW: It's everyone's first time out there except for Marc; he spent a week in London after high school. We're all stoked as hell to get out there! Hopefully we can find some spare time to go sightseeing.

The Word Alive Kick Out Drummer
The Word Alive have kicked drummer Tony Aguilera from the band.
Statement from The Word Alive:
“We will announce the real reasons behind everything soon, all we can hope is that people will be understanding and patient enough to wait, as well as understanding enough to know we would never do something we didn’t feel was the best for TWA. All decisions are made as a group, and there’s so much misinformation floating around. It’s disheartening to see several fans attacking us without having heard the full story. Hopefully our true fans will understand; the ones who don’t, we apologize.”

Album Review: The Audition - Great Danger
The Audition return with their fourth full-length and third in the last three years, which could question the bands musical authenticity. If you're familiar with The Audition then you pretty much know what you're going get with 'Great Danger'; driving pop-rock with good harmonies courtesy of Danny Stevens.
I'll admit I didn't pay that much attention to bands previous two releases, mainly due to a mix of average feedback from the online community, and personally not being a band I go out my way for. Nevertheless this manages to start off healthy with 'Let Me Know', 'The Art Of Living' and 'You Ruined This' setting the tempo, as the bands straight to the point structure is instantly favourable.
On Our Stereo: Post Harbor - They Can’t Hurt You If You Don’t Believe In Them
With this instalment of 'On Our Stereo', I thought I'd kill 2 birds with one stone as I had originally been asked to give an album review on Post Harbor's latest release, 'They Can’t Hurt You If You Don’t Believe In Them'. However as I listened to it more and more, my admiration for this record grew, which led me to writing this instalment of 'On Our Stereo', which emphasises albums that are must-haves.
Like with most post-rock-esq bands, I tend to feel uplifted and inspired which is something 'They Can't Hurt You...' certainly gives from start to finish, as it sweeps and swoons from one track to the next with creating an awe-inspiring musical landscape.
The band's minimalist, stripped approach is a wonder to listen to, as they manage to compliment it with complex structures that do not alienate. Whilst the depth and layered texture, means that despite the lengthy tracks, they do not settle into boredom (see 'Cities of the Interior'), as the band to an extent take you on a musical journey that gently guides you.

Album Review: Four Year Strong - Enemy Of The World
Four Year Strong are true to their word when they say "don’t fix it if it isn’t broken" on opening track 'It Must Really Suck To Be Four Year Strong Right Now', from their Universal/Motown debut 'Enemy of the World'. All the duel vocals, breakdowns and stomping numbers are still here and present. Tracks like 'On A Saturday' and 'Nineteen With Neck Tatz' go by at a furious pace, with the band grouping together in vocal unison at any opportunity.
Elsewhere 'Find My Way Back' and 'One Step At A Time' bring a sense of accessibility, although the bands original style dominate the record throughout. Although this is not a bad thing, 'Wasting Time (Eternal Summer)' rightly verifies its picking as the first single, filled with energy and passion as the bands brotherhood bound shines through.

Album Review: Hope & State - Grand Gestures
Hailing from London, Hope & State make an attempt to create a solid first EP entitled 'Grand Gestures'. Sadly, all that was really made was the attempt. The four-piece, led by vocalist Irman Siddiqi, begins "Grand Gestures" with “London, Oh London”, a drum-driven song that indicates, quite clearly, the tone of the EP. Edward Wrede’s drumming stands out throughout the five-song trip and is certainly an added bonus for the ears.
“At The Sight Of You” is quick to show off Hope & State’s influences with a mixture of punk-rock guitar parts and old-fashioned vocal melodies. Unfortunately, Siddiqi’s vocals fail to bring the song much applause because of an unnecessary attempt to display his vocal range at the song's end.

Album Review: Futures - The Holiday
Futures manage to exceed expectations with this debut release, 'The Holiday' a seven song pop-rock mini-album that hits all the right notes from start to finish. Massive hooks with equally as good choruses is the formula used by the ex-Tonight is Goodbye guys. Opening track '16' perfectly shows this, filled with adrenaline driven guitars, basslines and a chorus that soars.
'Take Me Home' and 'Sal Paradise' quickly keep up the momentum. By the time you get lead-off single, 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf' you have reached the peak of the record, with its instant chorus that is so fucking catchy, you can't help but love it.

Hellogoodbye Finished with Drive-Thru
Hellogoodbye have confirmed they are no longer with Drive-Thru Records after settling a lawsuit.
The band said:
"we’ve been unable to do anything for the past year and half as we’ve been locked in a lawsuit with drive thru records. two days ago we finalized the settlement and are officially done with each other. over the course of the past year or so we’ve been slowly recording our record off and on (knowing we had no means to release it at the time, and self funding it). now that we’re free agents it shouldn’t be long before we can be a real band again. we’re going to quickly find a place to release this record, and become active again. us and absolute punk .net in a beautiful partnership."

New Lost On Campus Song
Live Review: Polar Bear Club, Shook Ones, Title Fight, The Arteries, Harbour - Newport, 17/02/10.
A five band bill tonight promises to deliver plenty of stage dives and sing-a-longs. First Harbour, a hardcore five-piece from Cardiff reminiscent of Dag Nasty and Minor Threat, then The Arteries, native to Swansea and playing a fairly heavy punk with diverse influences.
After this lovely Welsh starter, it's young prodigies Title Fight's turn to show what they're capable of, and with no surprise, they're capable of a lot. Their set puts everyone on the same wavelength: fat bearded guys with flannels, pin punks, emo nerds or hardcore kids, everyone seemed to be under the spell of the four kids from Kingston. Hit after hit, the pit goes up in flames for the band's melodic hardcore numbers, opening with the monumental 'Memorial Field' and its anthology breakdown, without forgetting the excellent 'Symmetry', and the desperate 'Evander'. Slow or fast, these kids rock hard and yet seem to be the humblest guys in the world, on the verge of shyness. Overall a great set that confirms, only good things can happen to this band. Definitely a band to keep an eye on.
